LO4: Understanding the BBFC ratings

The  BBFC Rating is to show what is appropriate for what age.
The BBFC rating for U means that every age group can watch the documentary, and it means that its appropriate
PG, the PG rating means that the children can not watch the film unless their parents give them permission to watch the film.
12A: A 12a usually contains minor use of bad language and requires you to be with a parent if under age.
15- A 15 usually contains bad language and is not suitable for anyone under the age of 15.
18-This age rating means the film can contain a lot of bad language, as well as nudity and is therefore advised for adults

LO3: Linking audio to visuals and applying audio effects

Here is an example of me adding audio to my video clip. The audio is a hip hop instrumental, while the shot is a rotating medium shot of the room the artist is in. The song connotes the genre as it is a hip-hop documentary. For the cut scenes when the artist was not talking I would increase the gain of the audio to make the song louder, whereas when the artist was answering questions I would turn the gain of the music instrumental down, in order to hear the artist speak.

L03:Applying appropriate visual effects and transitions

For some of the transitions I had the idea to use the cross dissolve transition as this gives mt overall video a smooth effect and is a nice change opposed to the normal cuts throughout my video.

L03:Offline edit

This is my offline edit, which is all of my footage put together without editing. The footage ranges from the shots in the artists living room, to the shots in his studio

The scene in his studio was difficult in some aspects as there was not to much space to get some of the camera angles I intended to get.

A lot went well with the overall shoot ,as I got the majority of shots I intended to get, and the artists living room provided enough space for the interview which at first I thought would be a problem. What also went well was the fact that I managed to have the majority of my footage stable.

LO2: Following shooting script/storyboards

While recording, I had the script loaded on a laptop, to make sure that the artist stuck to the script, as it has a set of questions which connote the musical genre and it also has the shots that I am required to take.

LO2: Footage in the style & conventions of the genre

This is my footage from the offline edit. It is in the style and fits the conventions of my genre as it is a hip hop documentary and the artist is creating musical instrumentals in the offline edit and answering questions about his musical career.

LO2: Following production processes

I used a few different questions opposed to my script, as I thought of some better questions on the spot. However for the majority of the documentary I stuck to the script as this provided me with enough guidance to complete the documentary. I had no issues with the location and the artist showed up on time. I also followed the script as I got all the shots that I wanted to get, and shots of the location that the artist was in.

LO2: Evidence of setting up appropriate equipment

This is evidence of me setting up the equipment as I used a tripod, as well as a Canon Eos 650d as this made sure that my documentary was high quality, and no footage was shaky as this would of been a problem, but the footage was stable, I also used a 64gb sd to card to ensure there was enough space to store my footage on.
